Anyone Can Make a Movie

People who have created new ideas for TV shows, movies and webisodes have come from all walks of life.  Many do not even work in the entertainment industry- they are just everyday people with an idea. Tom Hanks was a peanut vendor at Oakland A’s baseball games before producing award-winning movies like “Cast Away” and “Saving Private Ryan.”  Brad Pitt wore a chicken suit to bring customers in to a fast food joint before he produced movies like “Kick-Ass” and “Eat, Pray, Love.”

Tom Hanks dropped out of college after working in theater for a while and began acting for TV shows in the 1980’s. He studied acting and theater on his own time. His practice and dedication led him to lead roles in famous movies like “Forrest Gump.” Hanks co-produced “Saving Private Ryan” and produced a TV show idea that became “Band of Brothers,” which was an Emmy Award-winning miniseries.

Brad Pitt wasn’t always successful in Hollywood. When he first started, he struggled to get his foot in the door. He had to work various jobs and take acting lessons to finally see success in the late 1980’s. One of his most-widely attributed acting jobs was when he starred in “Fight Club.” This led him to produce new movie ideas including titles like “Year of the Dog” and “Moneyball.”

These are just two examples of people who had great ideas for television and movies and pursued their dreams with passion.  Before they were famous they were both just ordinary people who decided to take action on their idea, and with that they changed the world.
